Is it GRiZMAS? Well, that’s actually the name of the Michigan musician’s Detroit holiday charity, but it feels like GRiZMAS came early thanks to this double single release. The multi-faceted talent gives us a delicious, feel-good D.R.A.M. collaboration and a solo single featuring his first-ever rap verses.
We start with “It Gets Better,” a sonic dose of sunshine that puts D.R.A.M.’s A-game against a smiling chorus of children. It’s a bright message of positivity and hanging through the tough times, something the collaborators can speak to first-hand. It’s a definite mood changer, so if you’re having a down day, give it a few rinses.
“It Gets Better” is paired with chunk-o-funk solo single “Can’t Get Enough.” It’s a bluesy, guitar-driven blast of electro-fusion, and that is indeed GRiZ himself letting loose on the mic. He sings a message of love, reminding us that it’s better to give than to receive, and in fact, we get more love the more we put into the world.
It’s the first new music from GRiZ in more than a year, but we happen to know there’s plenty more where these come from. Fans won’t be disappointed. Listen to “It Gets Better” and “Can’t Get Enough” below.
