Green Day will celebrate the release of its much-ballyhooed “21st Century Breakdown” album with an intimate club show – or two – in New York City.
On Tuesday, May 19, the band will play New York’s Webster Hall as part of MySpace Music’s concert series “The List.” 300 Green Day fans will win free tickets to the event by responding to a series of messages posted on www.myspace.com/thelist, while the remaining tickets will go on sale to the public on May 8. Video footage of the show will later be broadcast on the site.
As previously reported, Green Day will also likely appear at New York’s intimate Bowery Ballroom on Monday, May 18. Although the show remains unconfirmed by the band’s representatives, MTV Germany is currently running an official contest to win a trip to the show and the Bowery Ballroom’s calendar remains empty on that night.
“Breakdown,” Green Day’s eighth album, will be release on Friday, May 15.
