Pharrell Williams put on one of the night’s most memorable performances.
After winning three Grammys early Sunday night, Feb. 8 — for best urban contemporary album, best music video and best pop performance — the artist took the stage to perform his Grammy-winning song, “Happy.”

Williams — in a bellhop-inspired outfit and yellow sparkling shoes — pulled out all the stunts for his “Happy” performance. He was joined by pianist Lang Lang and film composer, music producer and guitarist Hans Zimmer. As Zimmer and Pharrell danced across the stage, a choir danced through out the aisles.

At the latter end of his performance, Williams and his back-up dancers wearing black hoodies (in connection with the late 17-year old Trayvon Martin), threw up their hands as a demonstration of the “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” protest gesture, in ode to the late 18-year old Michael Brown killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Mo.
