No more monkeying about: Gorillaz are back with The Now Now.
Produced by Gorillaz, with James Ford and Remi Kabaka, the album spans 11 tracks, including the first release “Humility” featuring George Benson, “Fire Flies” and the Jamie Principle and Snoop Dogg–assisted “Hollywood.”
The virtual vehicle of Blur’s Damon Albarn and illustrator Jamie Hewlett, Gorillaz have released six studio albums, dating back to their self-titled debut from 2001. They’ve once climbed to the summit of the Official U.K. Albums Chart, with Demon Days in 2005. Their U.S. best is a No. 2 with 2010’s Plastic Beach and their most recent set, Humanz, from 2017.
Gorillaz played the album live for the first time last weekend in Tokyo and they’ll take it on the road from next month for a run of festival dates across Europe.
