Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day” climbs one rung to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, sending Sean Paul’s “Temperature” to No. 2 after only one week. This is Powter’s first No. 1 hit in the United States; the self-titled album from which it is drawn is due April 11 via Warner Bros.
“Bad Day” also takes over the lead on the Pop 100 from Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten,” which slips to No. 3. Additionally, it remains atop the Hot Digital Songs chart for a second week.
The Hot 100’s top tier remains relatively unchanged, with Ne-Yo’s “So Sick,” James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful” and Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You” sticking to the No. 3-No. 5 positions, respectively. The Blige track also notches a 14th week atop the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
On the Hot 100, Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten” and Dem Franchize Boyz’ “Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It” featuring Lil Peanut & Charlay remain at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. T-Pain’s “I’m N Luv (Wit A Stripper)” featuring Mike Jones holds at No. 8 on the Hot 100, while Bubba Sparxxx’ “Ms. New Booty” featuring Ying Yang Twins and Mr. ColliPark rises 13-9, and Chris Brown’s “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” drops 9-10 to round out the top tier.
The All-American Rejects’ “Move Along” is the Hot 100’s greatest sales gainer and rockets 32-16, while T.I.’s “What You Know” is the chart’s greatest airplay gainer and enjoys a 54-39 boost.
The top debut belongs to the Afters’ “Beautiful Love,” at No. 69. Also new are Fall Out Boy’s “A Little More Touch Me” (No. 91), Faith Hill’s “The Lucky One” (No. 92), Lil Jon’s “Snap Yo Fingers” featuring E-40 & Sean Paul Of The YoungBloodz (No. 98) and Wisin & Yandel’s “Llame Pa’ Verte” (No. 100).
The latter track remains No. 2 on the Hot Latin Songs chart for a second week, while Nelly’s “Grillz” featuring Paul Wall, Ali & Gipp holds at No. 1 on the Hot Ringtones chart for a ninth frame.
On the Hot Country Songs chart, Rascal Flatts’ “What Hurts the Most” jumps 2-1, ending the three-week run of Kenny Chesney’s “Living In Fast Forward,” which falls to No. 3.
Godsmack’s “Speak” maintains the top spot on the Mainstream Rock chart and Pearl Jam’s “World Wide Suicide” remains atop the Modern Rock tally for a second week.
