Contemporary soul artist Goapele has launched the Web site ChangeItAll.org,
“‘Change it all,’ the concept, can be a little intimidating sometimes,” Goapele says in a welcome video on the site. “But we’re really just thinking about how to make steps, even if it’s little things in our personal lives or in our communities that are at some point going to affect change for the positive.”
Videos about the topic are also posted from rappers Talib Kweli and Kanye West. The newborn online destination features diverse sections dedicated to activism events, music, arts and business, the latter featuring a Q&A Goapele conducted with Louis Fox, creative director of activist graphic design company Free Range.
The site’s message carries over into Goapele’s music, as her sophomore studio album is also titled “Change It All.” Originally expected in the spring, the set is due Aug. 16 via Columbia. The single “First Love” can be heard streaming on the artist’s official Web site and is available for purchase via Apple’s iTunes music store.
The disc was produced with Jeff Bhasker (the Game), who also worked on her 2002 Skyblaze debut, “Even Closer,” which reached No. 24 on Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart.
