Soulful rock act Gnarls Barkley will perform at MySpace’s 150th installment of its popular Secret Show franchise. The concert will be held on June 8 in New York at a venue to be announced.
The upcoming Gnarls Barkley gig will be a homecoming of sorts for the group, which launched its U.S. career two years ago with a MySpace Secret Show — the duo’s first live concert in America.
Since launching in February 2006, MySpace’s Secret Show performances have included acts like the Cure, Ice Cube, Justice and Slayer. The series aims to fuse the online and offline music experience through intimate “friends only” performances.
“Music has always been a cornerstone of the MySpace culture and our users are incredibly passionate and involved in the music community online,” says Josh Brooks, VP of marketing and content at MySpace.
