Global Spectrum, operators of Philadelphia’s Wachovia Center and Wachovia Spectrum for arena owner Comcast-Spectacor, have named Tim Murphy the facilities’ new VP and GM. Murphy will report to Global Spectrum COO John Page.
Murphy was most recently a regional VP for Global Spectrum, overseeing the 43,000-seat Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies and the 10,000-seat Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University; Kemper Arena (Kansas City, MO); Budweiser Events Center (Fort Collins, CO); the Everett Events Center (Everett, WA), the Taco John’s Events Centre (Cheyenne, WY) and the Fargodome (Fargo, ND).
In his new role, Murphy will oversee all of the day-to-day operations, bookings and scheduling of the Wachovia Center and Wachovia Spectrum. Additionally, he will continue to serve Global Spectrum as a regional VP, overseeing the Liacouras Center, Citizens Bank Park and the Everett Events Center.
Murphy replaces Page as the Wachovia complex’s GM. Page has expanded his role as the COO of Global Spectrum, which now manages more than 60 facilities throughout the United States and Canada.
