Philadelphia-based facility management firm Global Spectrum has entered into an agreement with British firm NEC Group Birmingham to launch a new international division.
Global Spectrum Europe will aim to manage and operate venues across Europe, including stadiums, arenas, performing arts centers, exhibition centers and theaters. The companies have tapped Richard Spencer as director of operations for Global Spectrum Europe. He will be charged with seeking out potential contracts for the new division.
Global Spectrum, a subsidiary of sports and entertainment firm Comcast-Spectacor, operates more than 70 facilities across North America, including the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia and the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. Earlier this year, Global Spectrum also expanded into Asia by gaining a management contract to operate the multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex Premiere Park in Singapore.
