Gladys Knight, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and David Foster will perform at the 2018 Carousel of Hope Ball on Oct. 6 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
The biennial event, which benefits the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes and programs run by the Children’s Diabetes Foundation, has raised more than $110 million since its 1977 inception.
This year’s recipient of the Brass Ring Award will be Robert De Niro. Jay Leno will serve as master of ceremonies, with Foster also handling music director duties. Quincy Jones and Clive Davis are the music chairmen, while Sharon Stone will be the auctioneer for the live auction.
In addition to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Knight, 11-time Grammy winner Edmonds, and 16-time Grammy winner Foster, Fernando Varela, Pia Toscano and Shelea Frazier will also perform. Past performers include Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Beyoncé, Sir Elton John, Sting, the Bee Gees, Ricky Martin, Smokey Robinson, Andrea Bocelli, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney.
Past Brass Ring honorees include Maria Shriver, Sir Sidney Poitier, Jones, Sinatra, Clive Davis, Denzel Washington, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Houston, Clooney, Lucille Ball, Merv Griffin, Foster and Jane Fonda.
