The explosion of vintage-sounding club music continues: On Monday (Feb. 2), Giorgio Moroder released the video for “Right Here, Right Now,” his collaboration with Kylie Minogue that will appear on the disco pioneer’s next album, 74 Is the New 24.
The clip, directed by Daniel Börjesson, relies heavily on kaleidoscope effects. Minogue and Moroder repeatedly split and multiply into numerous intersecting images. Like many classic vocal club tracks, this one is all about the present: As the title suggests, “There’s nowhere else but right here, right now.”
Moroder’s new album will be his first solo release in decades. After working on Daft Punk‘s Random Access Memories, Moroder eased back into the game with remixes of Coldplay and Haim. Now he’s putting together a new album. In addition to the Minogue feature, the full-length is expected to include contributions from Britney Spears, Sia, Charli XCX and others.
