The voice of Louisa Rose Allen, better known as Foxes, is currently a staple on Top 40 radio thanks to her feature on Zedd’s single “Clarity,” currently at No. 14 on the Hot 100 chart after being released as a single late last year. And the emotional dance cut may just be the start of the London singer’s mainstream moment: after guesting on songs by Rudimental and Fall Out Boy, Foxes plans to put a halt to the showy features and drop her solo debut this fall on Big Picnic Records.
Foxes On Her Solo Debut: ‘There’s a Dark Streak With The Album’
As “Clarity” continues its Top 20 run and becomes one of the defining songs of this summer, Foxes stopped by Billboard’s Pop Shop to discuss some of the songs she’s been listening to on repeat this season, for the latest edition of the “Gimme Five” series. From ubiquitous anthems by Daft Punk and Icona Pop to some current indie-pop darlings, check out Foxes’ five current playlist staples:
HAIM, “Forever”
Foxes: “I’m obsessed with the HAIM girls. I toured with them a while back, so it’s so good to see how well they’re doing. I love their new stuff, but ‘Forever’ just makes me want to dance.”
Daft Punk, “Get Lucky”
“It’s so groovy. And it’s amazing to hear Pharrell as well.”
MS MR, “Hurricane”
“They’re incredible. I can’t stop listening to them.”
Paper Crows, “Changing Colours”
“More people need to check Paper Crows out. They’re awesome.”
Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX, “I Love It”
“I love all of Icona Pop’s songs, but I have to say ‘I Love It’ if I had to pick one.”
