Bee Gee member Robin Gibb is among the first three keynote speakers confirmed for this year’s Popkomm, the international music and entertainment trade show in Berlin.
The other two are iconic German movie director Wim Wenders; and Petri Lunden, chairman of the International Music Managers’ Forum (IMMF).
Gibb, who is also president of authors societies’ umbrella organization CISAC, will discuss online licensing and income for music creators. Wenders, whose films traditionally have a strong music content, will talk about the relationship between the two creative fields. Lunden, an artist manager whose roster includes Sweden’s The Cardigans, is expected to concentrate on global copyright law in his speech.
Billboard magazine is a partner at Popkomm, which takes place at Messe Berlin (Berlin Exhibition Grounds) during Oct. 8-10.
