Robin Gibb has paid an inaugural visit to the German collecting society GEMA in Munich. Gibb is president of CISAC, the international confederation of authors’ and composers’ collecting societies.
Gibb met with the GEMA supervisory board and CEO Harald Heker, who said in a statement: “GEMA greatly appreciates his strong commitment and dedication to protecting copyright holders’ interests all around the world.”
Robin Gibb added: “Our environment is changing constantly on account of the ongoing technical advances. For this reason, we must continuously think about how copyright holders can be fairly compensated for their work in the digital era.”
Gibb will be staging 13 solo concerts in Germany next year. “An Evening of Bee Gees Greatest Hits” will be held at various venues including the Olymphiahalle in Munich on May 2, 2009.
