Wedding bells may soon be ringing. Yes, Solange Knowles will reportedly be a married woman come Monday morning.
According to a report, the “Losing You” singer is set to marry video director (and longtime love) Alan Ferguson on Sunday (Nov. 16) in New Orleans.
With the couple keeping the engagement on the down low, some Solange fans might be wondering who Ferguson is in the wake of the rumored wedding news. Well, he’s an accomplished music video director who has worked with a wide-ranging span of artists including the likes of Fall Out Boy, Tiesto, Katy Perry, Train and even his soon-to-be in-laws, Jay Z and Beyonce.
In honor of their love, here’s a playlist of some of Ferguson’s videos to jam to in celebration of their (almost) wedded bliss.
In 2008, Ferguson worked with Perry early on in her career, helming her visual for “Hot n Cold.”
He’s also was the go-to director for FOB for a time in their career. Ferguson directed eight FOB videos to date, including “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race” as well as “Thnks fr th Mmrs” and “Dance, Dance.”
One of his most recent videos is Janelle Monae’s “Electric Lady,” released back in July.
Now to the Carter-Knowles. He’s worked with both Jay and Bey on multiple occasions. He’s known Jay Z since the mid-90s, having directed the rapper’s “Feelin’ It” and “Who You Wit” clips early on in his directing career.
Though his most high-profile work has been with Beyonce. He won Video Director of the Year, along with Bey, at the 2012 BET Awards. Together they worked on the visuals for “Party” and “Dance For You” off her 2011 release 4.
Taking the stage together at the show that year, the singer thanked her future brother-in-law. “Thank you for teaching me and my team so much about directing,” she said.
However, Ferguson also had something to say that night. Yes, he made sure to thank the woman who will soon become Mrs. Ferguson. “The love of my life Solange Knowles, who’s my inspiration over there. Your woman will hold you down,” he said. “Yes, she does.”
