The executive director of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame is leaving the Macon museum.
Lisa Love said Friday she is resigning, effective June 1. Love tells The Telegraph newspaper she will help oversee the preservation of the museum’s collection and help guide it through a transitional phase before she steps down.
The music hall’s authority on Thursday voted 8-0 to enact a contingency plan developed by Love that includes dividing the collection among three state colleges. The plan also would give Macon a chance to pay the museum’s operating costs for another year.
Love said she’s been thinking about her next step for a while, ever since the state said it would stop funding the museum on June 30.
Love has been the music hall’s executive director since 2006.
