Georgia May Jagger may have inherited supermodel genes from mom Jerry Hall, but there’s no question about it, her intrinsic rockstar swagger’s all Mick—and she’s funneled it all into a series of fashion collaborations with iconic skater brand Volcom’s “Stone Row”, a unique women’s collection that prides itself on delivering “timeless rebel classics” that gives its designers “the freedom to showcase their most inspirational styles.”
And that’s exactly what Jagger did. After debuting her first collection, which revolved around a vintage skater aesthetic, she took a dressier approach that was more aligned with her personal style for her second (which, btw, is available as of today).
“My style is very eclectic and depends on my mood—I can be very tomboy or quite girly with summer dresses,” the model-turned-designer tells Billboard, calling out the tank, the tracksuit, and the black one-piece swimsuit as her faves from this drop. “The Volcom collab was very sporty (we pulled inspo from the men’s skate-inspired pieces), so for Stone Row, I wanted it to be elevated, so we used more luxe, shiny fabrications and sophisticated silhouettes.”
There’s a raincoat (a piece that Jagger was adamant about including) that’s crafted from the shiniest material, a slinky ‘90s slip dress (another must), and the tracksuit cut from satin (one of her top picks)—all with the end goal to carry you from day to night. And on a feel-good note, the swimsuits are spun from Volcom’s sustainable fiber Econyl, an innovative form of nylon entirely made from waste.
“I wanted to create pieces I don’t have in my closet,” Jagger says. “I was inspired by the ‘90s, and I’m always inspired by travel and items that you can style differently and wear day into night.”
The holiday and spring collections are already in the works, but as for what that entails, Jagger’s lips are sealed. And after? “Who can say what happens after that,” she says, “but I’m really excited with where everything is going!”
The 17-piece Stone Row x GMJ collection (14 ready-to-wear and three swimwear, priced between $48 and $178)) is available now at volcom.com.
