George Strait and the Band Perry represent country music on the latest tally of Hot Tours, landing at Nos. 1 and 3 respectively on the list of the week’s 10 top-grossing tours. Strait’s top ranking comes from the first four February performances of his ongoing Cowboy Rides Away tour that began its second and final leg in January. This week’s $6.4 million combined gross comes from sold out arena performances during two weekends, first in Phoenix and Los Angeles (Feb. 7 & 8) and then in Detroit and Columbus (Feb. 14 & 15). So far this year, the tour has logged $15.3 million in sales from ten performances. The country legend’s farewell tour continues through June 7.

The Band Perry earns its No. 3 slot with the first box office stats reported from the North American leg of the We Are Pioneers tour that began on Jan. 9 in Canada. The award-winning country trio launched the first leg of the tour in Europe last fall with a 20-city outing during November and December, but the trek through the U.S. and Canada kicked off in January. Touring in support of its sophomore album Pioneer, released last April, the group is headlining arenas for the first time on this tour. This week’s report includes the concerts in the tour’s 11 Canadian markets along with the first five U.S. cities on the schedule. Following the arena dates that wrap in March, the trio is tapped to appear at various North American festivals and casinos during the spring months and then support Blake Shelton’s Ten Times Crazier tour beginning in June.
Wedged between the country stars in the No. 2 slot is Marc Anthony with $4.6 million in ticket sales reported at arenas in four cities located in the Northeastern U.S. Sellout crowds were reported at each venue including the top-grosser in the mix, Barclays Center in Brooklyn with $1.6 million at the box office. Promoted by Chicago-based Cardenas Marketing Network, the four shows are the only 2014 American dates on the native-New Yorker’s Vivir Mi Vida tour that began last August. The 2013 jaunt covered markets in both North and South America, wrapping in December. This year’s trek is currently booked through mid-March.
