Following the weather-related cancelation of Governors Ball’s Sunday lineup, many of the artists slated to play Randall’s Island on June 6 quickly moved to book make-up concerts in nearby New York City venues. Brooklyn hosted shows by Prophets of Rage, Courtney Barnett and Two Door Cinema Club, while Manhattan’s Webster Hall was the site of Vic Mensa’s “Rain Check” concert and Kanye West’s attempted Pablo performance.
Monday (June 6) afternoon, 2016 Gov Ball artist Gary Clark Jr. revealed he’s set to rock Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday (June 7) night. Less than 30 minutes after the announcement, tickets were sold out. Unlike Prophets of Rage’s show, which offered a discounted rate to those who had Governors Ball wristbands, tickets for Clark’s show were sold at a flat rate ($20) for all attendees (Gov Ball ticket holders were, however, given refunds for Sunday’s axed program).
Additionally, Clark will perform on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, June 8.
