Garageband.com says deals with MSN and Live365 are leading to increased opportunities for priority-acts promoted by the emerging-artist service.
Unsigned act Geoff Byrd, has seen a spike in both download sales and Internet radio play since the deals with MSN and Live365. Byrd’s single “Silver Plated” scored a top-20 position on the MNS Music Store’s download chart the week of Nov. 14 after he was featured on the front page of the service — an outgrowth of the Garageband alliance.
Meanwhile, “Silver Plated” was added to 47 stations on Live365’s Internet radio network, making it the No. 3 most-serviced track in November. The adds are the result of a new agreement between in which Live365 promotes top garage bands to its online DJ community.
