Veteran brand manager and label executive David Gales joins Sony Nashville in the newly created position of senior director of digital marketing. He will report to Heather McBee, VP of digital business for Sony Nashville.
Based in Nashville, Gales will shepherd Sony Nashville’s expanding artist Web site business and social marketing efforts, as well as further the search for, and development of, new digital channels for the label group’s artists and music.
“For me, this is a continuation of a journey I started with [Sony Nashville Chairman] Joe Galante and RCA Nashville over a decade ago,” Gales said in a prepared statement. “Heather McBee’s vision for digital entertainment is one that I share, and I’m proud to join this dominant and progressive music team.”
For the past 13 years, Gales has served as founding partner in the Gales Network, a brand management firm geared toward the entertainment industry, and has previously held executive level positions with RCA, both in Nashville and New York, as well as A&M Records, and CBS Records.
Gales will begin his new role on Nov. 17.
