Heartbreak doesn’t have to be hard to hear. When you’re a dance music production duo like Galantis, your lows become your highs, and suddenly tears are transformed into colorful celebrations on club floors around the world.
“It’s a style of songwriting that’s been a part of Galantis from the start, but we never really had the chance to show you,” Galantis says in a joint statement via press release. “We had our battles with this one. It took a million turns, but it also forced us to go somewhere we haven’t been before, and we’re stoked to be sharing.”
The hook-driven duo returns with “Girls and Boys,” its latest chipmunk-squeal feel-good anthem ready to heat up your last days of summer. Vocalist Rozes gives a powerful, raspy performance well-balanced against the shiny synths and future pop production.
“The upbeat vibe of the song masks the darker lyrics,” Rozes says in a press release, “which reveal that the money, diamonds and champagne won’t fix the feeling of missing the person you love and feeling alone.”
“Girls and Boys” is the latest single from Galantis’ forthcoming second album The Aviary, scheduled for release Friday, Sept. 15. Hide your tears with a smile, and press play below.
