One Night Rodeo, a Florida-based band composed of Duane Allison (bass), Mike Elrod (drums), Cory Hildreth (lead vocals) and Jack Tamburin (electric guitar), has won the inaugural “Next GAC Star” competition. Country music hopefuls submitted MP3s, photos and videos via the Internet and at GAC tour bus stops. A combination of fan and industry judging determined the finalists and fans voted the winner, which was revealed last night (Sept. 10) on GAC.
Along with the title, One Night Rodeo received a Gibson Hummingbird guitar, the opportunity to film a music video and a record deal with Original Signal Recordings, Music Nation’s artist development arm/label. One Night Rodeo will be developed jointly by Original Signal and GAC, building them as a brand, and with support from GAC through its TV, radio, and Web site media platforms and events.
The band will record its first single, “Alive and Living,” with judge/mentors Victoria Shaw and Desmond Child. It will be released via iTunes next week.
