France’s second mobile carrier SFR will open a store in April which will feature a 200-capacity concert venue.
The central Paris outlet will be the largest of its kind in Europe, claims SFR, at 1,500 square meters. To begin with, the venue will host one concert each month. Performances will be broadcast live on SFR Web and mobile dedicated platform.
French singer/songwriter Cali is among the first-up artists, with a booking in May. The carrier is planning to broadcast 25 concerts live throughout the year.
“SFR music is no more about selling music, it is about community,” commented SFR executive VP, marketing and mass market customers Jean-Marc Tassetto in a press conference at Midem in Cannes yesterday.
SFR is the sponsor of several live venues in France, including the Zenith and Paris’ La Cigale-SFR and Olympia sites.
