– Warner Music France has reached an agreement with French music community platform Zaploop, which will enable the service’s users to sell music from Warner catalog through widgets in a licensed “super-distribution” scheme.
Warner Music is the first major to license its catalog to Zaploop, which launched in December 2007.
– Sony Ericsson and leading French mobile carrier and Internet provider Orange have struck a deal with German-born artist Ayo. Through the arrangement, a video of Ayo’s private concert in Paris on May 29 will be exclusively available for three months on Orange’s Web, mobile and TV platforms. Sony Ericsson also reports 150,000 sales of its W910i Walkman phone, which features five pre-loaded videos grabbed from Ayo’s live performance at the Paris Olympia in March 2007.
– Luxemburg-based independent artists platform Jamendo has forged a pact with French portable player manufacturer Archos. Users of Archos Content Portal will now be able to download the 140,000 tracks from Jamendo’s library, many of which are unsigned artists using Creative Commons licenses.
