As tipped here earlier this month, Franz Ferdinand has chosen “Do You Want To” as the first single from its upcoming second album. The cut will be released Sept. 19 in the U.K. via Domino, a day before the band begins a North American tour in Chicago with Cut Copy and TV On The Radio. The new album will arrive Oct. 4 in North America and a day earlier internationally.
Franz Ferdinand is still fine-tuning the track list for the project, which will be self-titled like its 2004 predecessor but feature a different album cover color scheme.
“There’s so many albums I have that I don’t refer to by their real titles,” frontman Alex Kapranos recently told Billboard.com. “The second Specials album is called ‘More Specials,’ but I always just call it ‘the second Specials album.’ I’m also quite interested to see what will happen, because I know people will choose their own name for it. It’s a little bit of an experiment.”
