After the huge success of Frank Ocean‘s Channel Orange in 2012, then four years of virtual radio silence from the artist, fans were dying to get their hands on his sophomore album, Blonde, which was finally released Saturday after multiple rumored release dates and pushbacks.
Boys Don’t Cry, the zine Ocean released in tandem with the album, wasn’t as hotly anticipated, but the publication does serve up a few interesting features, including a love letter to McDonald’s by Kanye West, along with a playlist of faves from the sadboi himself, Frank Ocean. Honestly, the playlist’s mix of artists is what you would expect from a guy who credits David Bowie, Kanye West, Jamie xx, Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, the Beatles, Andre 3000, Brian Eno and Pharrell among many, many others as contributors on Blonde.
