Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will support the Blu-ray high definition DVD next year. The company revealed today (July 29) its plans to debut a mix of new release, library and TV titles on the format. Upcoming releases could include “Alien,” “Die Hard,” “The Sound of Music” and “All About Eve.”
Fox did not reveal when the Blu-ray releases will hit the market, though other Blu-ray titles from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Buena Vista Home Entertainment are expected in the first quarter of 2006.
New Line Home Entertainment, Paramount Home Entertainment, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Warner Home Video are releasing titles on rival HD format, HD DVD, this fall.
