Tasso Koken, who spent many years at the now defunct Wiz chain, has joined Best Buy as senior VP of merchandising. Koken will report to Ron Boire, Best Buy’s executive VP and general merchandise manager, and will be based in the company’s headquarters in Minneapolis.
Koken was most recently senior VP and general merchandise manager of home electronics at Sears, Roebuck & Co. where he served since June 2004. While at Sears, he played a critical role in experimenting with bringing music back into that chain. Prior to that he was executive VP at the Wiz, which was later acquired by Cablevision Systems Corporation.
