Longtime Sony executive Adrian Fitz-Alan has joined EMI as VP legal and business affairs for its Australasia activities.
Fitz-Alan has extensive international music industry experience, having served with Sony Music and Sony BMG in London and N.Y. stretching over an 18-year period.
He returned with his family to Australia after leaving Sony BMG last August; he most recently worked with the music major as VP, international, business and legal affairs, global digital business, based in N.Y.
In his new role, Fitz-Alan will be tasked with managing EMI’s legal and business affairs function for Australia and New Zealand, ensuring best practice in areas of contract drafting, negotiation and administration and other legal matters, and providing strategic direction and leadership on legal and business affairs issues.
He will also represent EMI on key music industry associations and bodies, and will be a member of the ARIA Copyright Committee.
Fitz-Alan reports to EMI Music Australasia country chairman Mark Poston and Sylvia Coleman, senior VP legal and business Affairs, Europe and rest of world.
