For King & Country (Luke and Joel Smallbone) teamed up with pop singer Tori Kelly and gospel great Kirk Franklin for a rousing performance of their collab “Together” on Saturday (June 27) for the “Global Goal: Unite for Our Future” concert.
With the artists wearing white t-shirts and standing together against a black background, they harmonized as images of Black Lives Matter protestors — many holding signs bearing George Floyd’s name — flashed on the screen.
“If you’re lookin’ for hope tonight, raise your hand/ If you’re feelin’ alone and don’t understand/ If you’re fighting in the fight of your life, then stand/ We’re gonna make it through this hand in hand,” they sang.
The “Global Goal” event intends to shed a light on communities disproportionately affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Miley Cyrus, Shakira, J Balvin, Jennifer Hudson, Coldplay, Usher, Justin Bieber and Quavo, Christine and the Queens and Yemi Alade all took the virtual stage.
