Leading French music and entertainment retailer Fnac launched yesterday (July 6) a branded mobile phone service in collaboration with mobile carrier Orange.
The new product, “Fnac mobile avec Orange,” will be exclusively available in 67 of Fnac’s 69 outlets in France and via Fnac.com. Subscription to the phone service ranges from €44 ($56) to €84 a month ($107).
Subscribers to the new product can tap directly into the Fnac portal, where a range of specialized services are available. Technology for the service is provided by French company Mobivillage.
“This move was essential for us to be able to develop a consistent offer on the mobile channel”, says Fnac’s Lionel Jarlan, who heads the project.
