Veteran Sony Music Australia executive Mark Flynn is to depart the company this week.
A spokesman from the music major’s Australian affiliate says Flynn’s position as GM promotions, publicity and business enterprises no longer exists following a reshuffle of its promo department.
Flynn could not be reached for comment, though the spokesman says both parties have split on good terms.
The Sydney-based exec initially joined the fold as New South Walespromotions manager for Epic Records back in 1998. A year later, he rose to director, national promotions and publicity.
Following a sabbatical, Flynn returned to the music major in July 2006 as director of business enterprises, then rose up the ranks again in Sept. 2007 as senior director, promotions, publicity and business enterprises.
Flynn was promoted to his most recent role In Nov. 2009.
