
Flying Lotus‘ debut feature film Kuso will premiere at next year’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, along with a number of other music-relevant films featuring Beastie Boys‘ Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz, Fred Armisen, Roxanne Shanté and more.
Flying Lotus’ Kuso is the full version of his short film Royal and stars Tim Heidecker and Hannibal Burress. It includes new music from himself, Aphex Twin, Thundercat, and others. FlyLo announced the news on Monday (Dec. 5).
Other previously announced films include Band Aid, directed by and starring Zoe Lister-Jones with Fred Armisen and Adam Pally about a couple trying to save their marriage by channeling their fights into rock songs. Beastie Boys’ Horovitz will star in Golden Exits, playing a Brooklynite whose life is disrupted by the arrival of a young foreign girl. As well, the film Patti Cake$ tracks an unlikely rapper on her “unlikely quest for glory” and Roxanne Roxanne gives rapper and Juice Crew member Roxanne Shanté the biopic treatment.
