As if Flume‘s Skin wasn’t already great enough, the Australian producer went and released four more tracks from the LP studio session as Skin Companion EP I. Now, days after winning his first Grammy for best dance/electronic album, he unleashes another four cuts from the sessions as Skin Companian II.
“Enough” is a monster collab with Pusha T that comes hard straight out the gate. “Weekend” is a dark and sensual beat for the streets and the sheets, with jazzy vocals from Moses Sumney. “Depth Change” is a brilliant bit of wonky, filtered future bass that won’t leave you sick of the overplayed genre, and “Fantastic,” featuring Dave Bayley of Glass Animals, is delightfully off-beat.
So class, what have we learned? Flume’s Skin sessions were pure gold. Even the songs that didn’t make the cut are better than half of what makes it on the rest of these dudes’ Soundclouds. Enjoy Skin Companion EP II for yourself below.
