One of the most flat-out-fun moments of tonight’s Billboard Music Awards was the performance of “This Is How We Roll” by two of country music’s biggest stars, Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan.
The trio of Bryan plus FGL’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard hit the MGM Grand Arena stage for the rap-flavored party anthem wearing an assortment of distressed denim and tight t-shirts with an enthusiastic band rockin’ and reelin’ behind them.
The single, currently No. 2 on the Hot Country Songs chart, teamed together a pair of BBMA finalists who are both having career years. FGL watched as “Cruise” set records for being the biggest-selling country digital song of all time, as well as for most weeks atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart at 24. Each of their four singles since — including “This Is The Way We Roll” — has been certified platinum.
The track also features Bryan — whom the duo opened up for early in their career during his “Dirt Road Diaries” tour. The Capitol Nashville recording artist is riding a wave of eight straight number one singles going back to 2011, including “Play It Again,” which he is also scheduled to perform tonight.
