Rapper Flo Rida continues to fend off all challengers on the Billboard Hot 100, as his single “Low” beings an eighth week at No. 1. Chris Brown’s “With You” remains at No. 2 and is the fastest growing track at radio, while Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop the Music” holds at No. 3.
Alicia Keys’ “No One” rebounds 5-4 in its 23rd week on the chart, trading places with Timbaland’s “Apologize” featuring OneRepublic, and Sara Bareilles’ “Love Song” stays put at No. 6.
With a 9-7 move, Yael Naim’s “New Soul” is the first top 10 debut to bullet in its second chart week since Eden’s Crush’s “Get Over Yourself” in April 2001. Downloads for the cut, which appears in a MacBook Air ad, increase to 163,000 (up 20%).
Snoop Dogg’s “Sensual Seduction” holds at No. 8 and Sean Kingston’s “Take You There” ascends 10-9. Buckcherry rounds out the top tier, as “Sorry” rises 11-10. The fifth single from the band’s Eleven Seven/Atlantic album “15” sold 86,000 digital copies last week.
The Hot 100’s top debut is Lenny Kravitz’s “I’ll Be Waiting” at No. 73. Downloads for the first single from his new “It Is Time for a Love Revolution” album triple to 30,000.
On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Keyshia Cole’s “I Remember” flips-flops 2-1 with Alicia Keys’ “Like You’ll Never See Me Again,” which had been No. 1 for seven weeks. Usher’s “Love in This Club” featuring Young Jeezy is the top debut at No. 51. It’s the first official single from his as-yet-untitled new LaFace/Zomba album, a date for which has not been announced.
Meanwhile, Mariah Carey’s new single, “Touch My Body,” debuts at No. 78, despite only garnering a few hours with of airplay in the chart tracking period. Her next album, “E=MC ²,” arrives April 15.
There’s no change at the top on Hot Country Songs, where Brad Paisley’s “Letter to Me” is No. 1 for a fourth week. George Strait’s “I Saw God Today” is new at No. 19, the highest debut in his storied career. The track introduces “Troubadour,” a new album due April 1 via MCA Nashville.
After 14 weeks, Seether’s “Fake It” is finally unseated on the Mainstream Rock chart by Puddle Of Mudd’s “Psycho” which climbs from No. 2. “Fake It” is still No. 1 on Modern Rock though, for an eighth week.
