It was 47 years ago that Sgt. Pepper’s taught the band to play, and in the process, changed popular music forever.
The Beatles‘ magnum opus certainly doesn’t lack for lauds (and backlash), but that didn’t stop Beatlemaniac Wayne Coyne from leading the Flaming Lips into an entire Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band covers LP.
Nor should it — especially when the Lips have an all-star roster of guest collaborators at hand. Check out who’s playing on which track below and stream With a Little Help From My Fwends over at NPR.
