Democratic nominee Joe Biden and President Donald Trump faced off on Tuesday night (Sept. 29) for the first general election presidential debate of 2020.
Moderated by Fox News’ Chris Wallace, the debate covered a variety of topics pertinent to the United States amid a particularly tumultuous year, including the Supreme Court, COVID-19, the economy, race and violence in our cities, and the integrity of the election.
As Biden and Trump threw more and more verbal punches and the debate stage heated up, with Trump repeatedly interrupting and talking over the former Vice President and Wallace, while failing to condemn white supremacy when asked to do so, so did the Twittersphere, with a number of celebrities sharing their thoughts on what the candidates had to say, including John Legend, 50 Cent, Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, Sara Bareilles and more.
See below.
The entire country has to make a decision as to whether it will continue to downplay the fact that our President is an openly racist White Supremacist and what that means for its citizens, or… VOTE HIM OUT.

The debate confirms we have indeed entered the Apocalypse… of the ego.

Tbh I ain’t even watching it.
I know what it is. Two completely incompetent, unqualified males debating which one has a bigger ego. Politics aren’t going to save this nation. Look into local grassroots orgs and mutual aid programs and GET TO WORK if u wanna see change.— PRELUDE (@LaurenJauregui) September 30, 2020
Y’all can be mad at me for telling the truth if you want. You can all vote and you’ll see plenty of content over the next few months of me letting u know voting Biden is a “better” option; but I stand by what I say. Politics will not save us. This is clearly NOT about the people.

No matter what happens. Isn’t the fact that our president is incapable of having a rational discussion enough to make him not eligible? It used to be.

Take off the gloves, #Joe! Slug him hard a few times, for the 206,000 dead AND the living, for all the fallen soldiers he’s maligned, for all the innocent people he’s called rapists, for #PuertoRico, for women, for the planet, burning in front of our eyes, and for the future.
