Hard rock outfit Filter has canceled all its planned tour dates for the remainder of 2002, following lead singer Richard Patrick’s announcement that he has entered rehab. Filter was to headline the 11-city Rellim tour beginning tomorrow night (Oct. 2) in Minneapolis. Refunds for advance tickets will be available at point of purchase.
“I want to apologize to all my friends and fans for having to cancel these upcoming shows, but right now I’m concerned about my health and want to get back into the best physical and mental condition to go back on the road next year,” Patrick said in a statement.
The group’s third album, “The Amalgamut,” was released July 30 via Reprise and has sold 90,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The single “Where Do We Go From Here” reached No. 11 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart and No. 12 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks survey.
