
Fetty Wap is paying tribute to his brother Twyshon Depew after the young man was shot and killed on Oct. 15.
“I love you lil bro my twin … R.I.P,” the rapper captioned an Instagram photo of the two together on Oct.16. “I failed you bro I’m sorry … I keep calling ya phone and you won’t pick tf up and that shit never ring 3 times now it’s straight to vm I love you lil bro I really thought I could get you out before I ever had to make a post like this lil bro.”
He added in an Instagram Story on Sunday morning, “I love you Twy …Really Missin you kidd but I see you brought out the sun today ima pour sum up for you today.”
According to the local ABC affiliate, Paterson, N.J., police responded to a shooting incident around 9 p.m. on Oct.15. Depew, 26, had been shot and taken to a local hospital in a private car. Per law enforcement, he died at 11 p.m. that evening.
Fetty, born Willie Maxwell II, said in a 2016 chat in Interview magazine conducted by Trevor Noah that taking care of his family was important to him. “I can’t just be super-rich or whatever and not do the right thing,” the “Everyday” rapper said at the time. “My mom, my father, my little sisters, and my brother — I don’t got that much family.”
