Adele, Duffy and Leona Lewis will battle it out for best U.K. act at this year’s MTV Music Europe Awards (EMAs).
The three hitmakers will be competing against pop duo the Ting Tings and alternative band the Wombats at the Nov. 6 event, which takes place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
The best U.K. act nominations are based on votes by MTV viewers, record-industry executives, and a dedicated team at MTV. British MTV viewers will select the winner.
The winner then goes on to compete with the victors from other major European countries to contend for the Europe’s Favourite award, voted for by MTV’s pan-European audience.
In other news, this year’s EMAs will be sponsored by computer manufacturer Dell — its first ever pan-European sponsorship deal — fashion label edc by Esprit and cell-phone maker Sony Ericsson.
