Felix Perez, the former CEO and president of Davidson Media Group (DMG), has been named general manager of Univision Radio New York, effective immediately.
Pérez will now supervise operations of Univision’s three New York stations: Spanish contemporary WXNY-FM (96.3 FM), regional Mexican WQBU (92.7 FM) and Spanish news/ talk station WADO (1280).

Ranked No. 9 on Arbitron’s Dec. 2011 ratings, WXNY is Univision’s highest-rated New York station and the second highest-rated Spanish language station in the market, only behind SBS-owned WSKQ, the longtime market leader, which was at No. 6 on the December Arbitron ratings. But among adults 18-49 and 25-54, WXNY ranked as the top Spanish-language station in the market.
Pérez takes over the post held by Carey Davis, who left the company last year after two years with the company. Pérez will report directly to José Valle, president of Univision Radio.
The New York staffing move is just the latest major change within Univision Radio since Valle was appointed president of the network in early 2011. Since then, there have been general management changes in multiple markets, including Dallas and Los Angeles with ratings going up across the board in the last nine months.
Univision Radio’s portfolio includes 70 owned and operated stations in 17 markets, including the top 10 Hispanic markets in the country.
