Feist has released Pleasure, her first album in six years.
The Canadian artist announced the new project just last month, which she co-produced last winter with “two of her closest friends,” Mocky and Renaud LeTang. It’s title track dropped in March and a followup, “Century” featuring Jarvis Cocker of Pulp, arrived earlier this month.
Feist’s last album, Metals, debuted and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 in October 2011. So why the long pause between albums? “I just wanted to take a breath and see if I was supposed to be a macrame teacher, or, I don’t know, go back to school and become a scientist,” she recently told Zane Lowe in a chat for his Beats 1 show.
The veteran singer and songwriter and sometime Broken Social Scene member will support her fifth LP with an international tour, which includes dates in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
