Keep Calm, because 5 Seconds of Summer isn’t the only act coming in hot with new music this week.
Dua Lipa revived ’80s disco-pop for her sophomore album Future Nostalgia, a 37-minute soundtrack to the perfect dance party at home. But PartyNextDoor‘s new project Partymobile puts listeners right in their feelings with songs featuring his OVO boss Drake on “Loyal” and “Believe It” or not Rihanna, who caused social media mayhem with her first new vocals since 2017.
Bob Dylan also made some noise for his grand return with “Murder Most Foul,” the 78-year-old singer-songwriter’s first new single in eight years. He takes on a musically gifted Forrest Gump-like figure for the nearly 17-minute reflection on the JFK assassination while he travels back in time for more ’60s touchstones.
Jessie Reyez used murder as a motif in her highly anticipated debut album Before Love Came to Kill Us, a 14-track project that captures the Canadian singer-songwriter in her not-so-safe haven where she deals with love’s most dangerous spells (cue the Eminem-assisted “Coffin”) and threatens anyone who takes her out of it.
