In October, Far East Movement made a global statement with their Identity album that brought together stars from around the world for an ambitious, accessible pop project. The independent LP made a splash on the charts — debuting at No. 7 on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart — and the trio are looking to keep the momentum going with its latest visual for “Don’t Speak,” the glitchy, dance-pop track that features K-pop star Tiffany and producer King Chain.
Premiering exclusively on Billboard, the “Don’t Speak” music video sees featured vocalist Tiffany walking into an audition for the FEM dudes before creating a creative new world all her own. The Girls’ Generation singer takes center stage among a troupe of Eastern-inspired fan dancers among alluring glamorous shots, further proving the solo-star promise we first saw with her debut EP, I Just Wanna Dance, this past spring.

“We wanted to bring out the emotional side of the song,” Far East Movement wrote in an email to Billboard about their new video. “Focusing on Tiff as a solo performance tryout and all the emotions an artist goes through right before they need to ‘Turn it on.’ We had the idea of adding a modern flip to the classic Far East-influenced fan dance, connecting back to the whole concept of our Identity album.”
The “Like a G6” outfit also identify their fellow Californian as a crossover-star-in-the-making. “Tiffany recently released some solo work that really opened our eyes to her range,” Far East Movement added. “The Girls’ Generation stuff is so well put together, but these sessions with her really showed us how versatile her range is as a singer. She’s definitely a global star, able to sing in four languages, and popular all over the world. Breaking in the U.S. is just a matter of time. If anything, this collab made us want to do much more with her and we would love to get back in the studio and produce for her next project. Hopefully we can be a part of her breaking in the U.S.”
Looking forward, FEM say a video for Identity track “SXWME” that features Jay Park and MNEK will be out next year, along with a more visuals and artist collaborations via their Transparent Agency record label.
