In this week’s round of Billboard’s Fan Army Face-Off, Adele‘s Daydreamers are not only “Chasing Pavements” but chasing away Justin Bieber‘s Beliebers for the title of strongest fan army. After successfully taking out Drake‘s OVO supporters and Zayn Malik‘s Zquad, the Daydreamers proved they roll deep for Adele, but as they have done cosistently in past rounds, Beliebers returned in final hours to to praise their Canadian heart-throb.
Justin Bieber’s army of Beliebers first began in 2009 with his debut EP, My World, which brought breakout singles “One Less Lonely Girl” and “One Time.” The EP’s success transitioned into the artist’s debut album, My World 2.0. Arguably the artist’s most well known track “Baby” was the first single off the album. Bieber released two acoustic remix albums for fans, My Worlds Acoustic and Believe Acoustic, showcasing the pop star’s vocals. The singer also teamed up with artists like Rascal Flatts, Usher, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus, Raekwon and Jaden Smith for Never Say Never: The Remixes in 2011. The singer’s latest album Purpose, brought new dance-pop tracks in 2015 and the Purpose World Tour in 2016.
Daydreamers worldwide drowned themselves in emotion in 2011 with Adele’s Hot 100 hit “Someone Like You”. At the young age of 21, Adele won her first Grammy Award for album of the year with 21 thanks to relatable heart-bearing tracks “Rolling In The Deep,” “Rumour Has It,” “Set Fire To The Rain” and “Love Song.”
The British singer had first caught attention three years prior with her debut studio album, 19, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The artist’s latest album, 25, brought No. 1 single “Hello” and Adele’s current worldwide summer tour.
Adele’s Daydreamers currently lead the fan army round against Beliebers with over 10,000 votes. Time is ticking in Daydreamers favor, but Beliebers “Never Say Never.”
