Day two of this year’s Billboard Fan Army Face-Off has seen several musical fan armies rise and fall, and a few are fighting fiercely to advance into the second round.
One of the most competitive races in the first round is between two K-pop boy bands, with BTS’ ARMY and EXO’s EXO-Ls currently in third and fourth place, respectively. There’s nearly 100,000 votes dividing the two, and BTS is currently in the lead with 430,884 votes at time of publishing.
Two of K-pop’s strongest fan armies of the moment, each of the boy bands has dedicated online fanbases: BTS took home the Top Social Artist award at this year’s BBMAs, while EXO’s brand-new Twitter account set off a flurry of millions of impressions earlier this month ahead of the release of their new single “Ko Ko Bop.”
Both EXO and BTS are heavyweights in K-pop when it comes to the U.S: Not only did each act hold solo Stateside tours this year, but their albums have also charted extremely well. EXO’s newly released The War spent several days at No. 2 on the U.S iTunes album chart this week, while BTS’ Wings became the highest-ranked Korean album on the Billboard 200 last October when it debuted at No. 26.
There are still a few days left for EXO-Ls and ARMYs to vote their fave into the second round of the Fan Army Face-Off 2017. Voting for the first round closes July 26, so head over to the bracket and vote now!
