Fall Out Boy just wrapped the Monumentour with Paramore, but they’re not slowing down any time soon. A new song called “Centuries” will hit iTunes on Sept. 9.
But that’s not all — just a month later, Fall Out Boy have another release to get excited about: Singer-guitarist Patrick Stump and his wife Elisa Yao are expecting their first child. After keeping the news under wraps for a while, they recently revealed they’re expecting the baby to arrive in October. They did not reveal if it will be a girl or a boy.
As for “Centuries,” the band tweeted out a video featuring Morse code on Sept. 4. After leaving fans guessing for a few hours, they made the following revelation:

Apparently, the video was actually Morse code for the word “centuries.” Is this new song part of a new Fall Out Boy album? The band recorded 2013’s comeback LP Save Rock and Roll in secret, so they’ve certainly had some surprises up their sleeves in the past.

“We’re writing,” bassist Pete Wentz told Billboard back on June 2. He continued: “I was just listening to something Patrick had written in the trailer. So we’re writing, finishing out the album cycle in South Africa in September and then I feel like the great thing about what Internet culture has morphed into, we were goofing around with this weird French producer the other day just for the heck of it. And I feel like you can just put out whatever and as long as it’s authentic to who you are. It can be singles or an EP, it’s just whatever you want.”
Fall Out Boy is definitely open to the idea of one-off singles and EPs (which is precisely what they did on the Ryan Adams-produced, hardcore-tinged 2013 EP PAX AM Days), so there’s no guarantee this is the start of their next album cycle.
And apparently, the Twitter effort worked out well for them:
