Faith Hill will once again perform the opening theme for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” this season. The song, “Waiting All Day For Sunday Night,” will debut on Sunday, Sept. 7, during the network’s first regular season “Sunday Night Football” broadcast of 2008, and will continue every Sunday night throughout the NFL season.
“What a thrill it was to be invited back this year. I’m a huge football fan.” said Hill via a statement.
“Waiting All Day For Sunday Night” is set to the original Joan Jett song, “I Hate Myself For Loving You,” which Hill recorded with producer Byron Gallimore.
In addition, the country singer will also be a part of an NBC promotional campaign that features Hill as well as players including the Kansas City Chiefs’ Tony Gonzalez and Rams’ Torry Holt. The promos will begin running during the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, Aug. 3rd, through the network¹s coverage of the Olympics August 8th-25th.
Hill said that the first promo, which finds her prepping snacks for a game, “is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Fans will be in for a real treat getting a glimpse of these guys in the kitchen.”
Hill¹s last album, 2005’s “Fireflies,” has sold 2.2 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Pop Album and Country charts.
